Some 5000 years BC, during the Neolithic period, the Hamangian civilization
spreads along the Black Sea, where now Rumania stands. Besides the oldest
written traces left in Europe, this civilization is attested by two
small statues, both very sophisticated for their time.
One of them, the so-called Hamangian thinker, symbolizes the most typical
human activity : rational thinking. It has been chosen as a symbol of
Bayesia's working domain.
