Hello ___________,
First of all, many thanks for joining the BayesiaLab user community!
You now have access to a BayesiaLab token license, which is tied to the following account name: ______________.
You can now go ahead and start the BayesiaLab installation by downloading the software package via this link: ________________________________________
Please note that you will first need to uninstall any previous version of BayesiaLab, e.g., the trial version, before installing your new version.
Upon launching BayesiaLab, you will be prompted to enter your credentials to start a BayesiaLab session.
There are 5 fields for you to fill in:
1. Host: bls1.bayesia.com
2. Port: 2424
3. User Name: See email notification
4. Password: See email notification
5. Account: You can leave this field blank
We sent you your User Name and Password by separate email. In case you can't immediately find this notification in your inbox, please look for an email sent by bls@bayesia.com with the subject line: Bayesia License Server Login Information.
If you do not find this email, you can request a new password via this link: http://bls1.bayesia.com/users/resetPassword.
Upon entering your credentials, please click Next to establish the connection with the BayesiaLab License Server, which will start your BayesiaLab session. Please note that you will need a continuous Internet connection for the duration of your BayesiaLab session.
If you cannot connect to the BayesiaLab Server, chances are that your company’s firewall blocks the connection from BayesiaLab to bls1.bayesia.com:2424. Please ask your IT department for assistance in this regard (see the BayesiaLab Library for more detailed information).
You will have access to this license until _____________.
As you get started with BayesiaLab, you may want to check out the BayesiaLab Library, which is a wiki-style knowledge repository of the complete BayesiaLab documentation. It also features many tutorials, instructional videos, etc. And, the Library’s FAQ section may already have an answer to some of your questions about Bayesian networks. Beyond these resources, you are always welcome to reach out to us directly via email: bayesialab@bayesia.com.
Finally, you may find it useful to join our discussion group on LinkedIn. There, you can connect with many other analysts and scientists who use BayesiaLab for their research. We also post regular updates regarding events in this forum and share news from the Bayesian network community.
Thanks again, The Bayesia Team
Upon clicking the download link, you will see several BayesiaLab versions that are available for download.
Please note that there are 32-bit and 64-bit Windows versions available. Furthermore, the Windows versions can be downloaded with or without the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). If you have JRE already installed on your PC, you may opt for the smaller download.
This section provides you with step-by-step instructions for installing a floating license of BayesiaLab on your computer.
Before you can start the installation, you will need to receive the following two emails below from bls@bayesia.com.
Upon starting BayesiaLab, you will be prompted to enter your User Name and Password to connect to the Bayesia License Server.
Please note that the User Name and Password for connecting to the BayesiaLab License Server are different from your download credentials.
For the Floating License to work, BayesiaLab must be able to connect to and remain connected with bls1.bayesia.com:2424. If you enter your credentials and there is no response from the login window, this means that BayesiaLab cannot connect with the Bayesia License Server (BLS). Please open a web browser and go to http://bls1.bayesia.com to check whether you can access this URL.
If you are able to get the BLS' Login page but are still unable to get a response from the login window, you most likely have a problem with your Firewall. Please ask your IT administrator to define an outbound rule that will specifically allow BayesiaLab to communicate with the Bayesia License Server at address bls1.bayesia.com:2424. For instance, if you had BayesiaLab installed in the C:\Program Files\Bayesia directory, your IT administrator would need to establish an outbound rule for C:\Program Files\Bayesia\BayesiaLab\jreXXX\bin\javaw.exe (see screenshot below from a Windows Server 2008 installation).
Upon connecting successfully, BayesiaLab will start up.
If you cannot solve the firewall issue, a workaround consists of using an external, non-corporate Internet connection, e.g., at home or using a cellphone as a hotspot, etc., and connect to the BayesiaLab License Server from there without the firewall blocking problem. Then, you can enable the “Borrow Session” option on the second screen when you start up BayesiaLab. Then, you can work offline for the duration you have specified.
Note that this connection only transmits software credentials for validation purposes.
The BayesiaLab software always runs locally on your hardware, and no data or models are transmitted to the Bayesia License Server.
Each time you start BayesiaLab, you will be prompted to enter your User Name and Password.
Check "Remember Password" to save your credentials.

Upon completing the download, execute the downloaded file.
In Windows environments, Administrator rights are required for the installation.
The installer program will first prompt you for the language.
Upon language selection, the BayesiaLab Setup Wizard will start:
Click next to proceed to the License Agreement.
After accepting the agreement, the next screen will prompt you to select an installation directory.
Windows users can also choose the Start Menu folder, from which BayesiaLab can be started.
The next screen confirms the selections and lets you start the installation process.
Upon completion, the Wizard presents this screen.
This concludes the file installation; however, you will still need to activate BayesiaLab. To do so, you may wish to launch BayesiaLab straight away while you have all the credentials at hand.
Unlike a , a BayesiaLab Floating Token License requires a continuous connection to bls1.bayesia.com:2424 while using the BayesiaLab software.
