Draft Preview of the Second Edition:

Bayesian Networks & BayesiaLab:
A Practical Introduction for Researchers

We launched the original edition of our book in October 2015, and since then it has been downloaded over 10,000 times. For many researchers, our book became the first encounter with Bayesian networks for applied research. As a result, we have received a lot of questions, feedback, plus many suggestions for additional topics for a second edition.

Also, version 6 of BayesiaLab introduced countless new features for which we have yet to write tutorials. Additionally, the Bayesia Expert Knowledge Elicitation Environment emerged as a new tool for policy analysis and simulation, which opens up an entirely new application domain for Bayesian networks.

Given all the new topics and the tremendous reader interest, we have started working on the second edition, which we plan to make available again as a free download. However, departing from earlier practice, we'd now like to encourage feedback from our readers already during the development of this new edition. Thus, we are planning to post drafts of individual chapters as we progress with the project. Please note that this will inevitably expose incomplete and potentially erroneous materials. Furthermore, you may see features that are not yet available in the current release of BayesiaLab. With that in mind, please check out the new and updated chapters via the links below and send us your comments: book@bayesia.us
