For years, our annual conference has brought the Bayesian network community together to share research, methods, and real-world applications. This year, we are carrying that tradition forward under a name that better reflects who we have become: the Bayesia Summit.
A Broader Portfolio
The new name marks how much our work has grown. What began as an event centered on BayesiaLab, our flagship platform, now reflects a broader ecosystem, including Hellixia, HellixMap, WebSimulator, BEKEE, and the Bayesia Engine API. Along with the tools, the methodology has widened. Our work now spans the full path from unstructured knowledge to computable models, taking in semantic networks, knowledge graphs, and causal diagrams alongside the Bayesian networks they become. BayesiaLab remains at the core of everything we do, and the Summit is where the full toolkit and its community come together.
A Forum for Every Discipline
Since Judea Pearl introduced Bayesian networks in the 1980s, they have grown into a general-purpose framework for research, analytics, and reasoning, and promoting that practical application is the reason the Summit exists. Professor Pearl keynoted our 2014 gathering at UCLA, the birthplace of the method, and in the years since our program has ranged from architecture to zoology and nearly everything in between: precision oncology, media mix optimization, coral reef health, and even a medical support system for a mission to Mars. What connects these talks is method rather than subject, and part of the appeal is watching a breakthrough in one field, such as medical research, point the way to a solution in another, such as marketing science.
The 2027 program carries that spirit forward. Expect case studies, live demonstrations, and methodological talks from a global community that spans academia and industry, together with the growing role of causal inference and GenAI-supported reasoning.
Open to the World
The Summit is fully online. Ours is a global community, and the most compelling work in probabilistic reasoning and causal modeling is emerging from more places every year. The last time the conference ran online, it drew one of our largest and most international audiences yet, with participants joining live from more than thirty countries. Going online eliminates the cost of travel and lets us make attendance free.
