2nd Annual BayesiaLab Conference in Los Angeles
The 2014 BayesiaLab Conference was held on the campus of UCLA in Los Angeles, a location of special significance to our community as the birthplace of Bayesian networks. The keynote address by Professor Judea Pearl, the inventor of Bayesian networks, made this connection particularly meaningful. His evening lecture drew a standing-room-only crowd, with attendees well beyond the core group of conference participants, reflecting Professor Pearls influence in the fields of computer science and artificial intelligence.
The conference sessions showcased the growing reach of Bayesian networks across sectors, with presentations from experts representing the military, intelligence community, consulting and technology firms, energy companies, healthcare organizations, and market research agencies. This wide-ranging program highlighted the increasing adoption of Bayesian network modeling as a versatile tool for data analysis and decision support.
To revisit the insights and ideas shared at this event, we invite you to explore the conference archive, where recordings of all presentations are available.
