Inference Tools in Detail

Context

The Toolbar features several elements that are specific to Inference functions. These particular icons are only visible when you activate the corresponding Inference function.

Usage

Adaptive Questionnaire

When the Adaptive Questionnaire is active, the Toolbar features two extra elements:

• Clicking the button emoves all evidence and returns the Adaptive Questionnaire to its starting point.
• Clicking the button stops and closes the Adaptive Questionnaire.

Automatic Evidence-Setting

Upon starting Automatic Evidence-Setting, the Toolbar features an additional control bar:

• Clicking the button takes you back to the first record in the dataset, i.e., record #0.

• The button selects the previous record.

• The counter box shows the record number of the currently displayed set of evidence, i.e., the current observation.

• The button selects the next record in the dataset.

• Clicking takes you to the last record in the dataset.

• By clicking the button, you specify to include Not-Observable Nodes for inference, even though Not-Observable Nodes are normally excluded from inference.

• Clicking exits the Automatic Evidence-Setting mode.
