Yi Jing & Hellixia: Modeling Ancient Wisdom with Causal AI
Abstract
“There is no more divination in the reasoned use of the I Ching (a 3,000-year-old Chinese classic) than in the reasoned use of today’s Large Language Models (ChatGPT & Co.)—both model reality through pattern observation.” Following on this main idea of my last intervention, this presentation explores how BayesiaLab’s Hellixia helps transform the I Ching into actionable causal models. Indeed, GenAI, leveraged with discernment, can extract rational frameworks from philosophical texts, revealing hidden logical structures and making accumulated human knowledge accessible for contemporary applications in strategy, risk management, and organizational change. A general and personal case study in “Augmented Wisdom”: ancient insight enhanced by artificial intelligence!
