Cost
Context
The Cost property associates a cost with the node. The cost is a real number greater than or equal to 1 and represents the cost of an observation. It is used by the Adaptive Questionnaire.
Usage
You can make a node Not Observable by unchecking the option. In this case, the node is not proposed in the Adaptive Questionnaire. The Not Observable setting can also be used to:
- Ignore values read from a database (Interactive Inference, Batch Labeling, Batch Joint Probability).
- Indicate the node to update (Interactive Bayesian Updating).
- Indicate the node for which to compute the posterior probability distribution for each case described in a database (Batch Inference).
Propagation
The Propagate Cost to the Classes button opens a dialog for selecting the classes associated with the node. All nodes in the selected classes then receive the same cost, or become not observable if there is no cost.
