Class Icon

- BayesiaLab allows you to manage nodes as members of Classes.
- Whenever any node is a member of any Class, an indicator icon appears in the Status Bar.
- By left-clicking the icon, you open the Class Editor.
- By right-clicking, you bring up a list of all Classes.
A Class is simply a formal grouping or collection of nodes.
- Certain Classes are predefined in BayesiaLab, e.g., the Classes Factor, Manifest, Non_Confounder, etc. Membership in such Classes carries a specific meaning for inference and analysis.
- Beyond the predefined Classes, you can arbitrarily group nodes together in a Class and assign a name of your choice to that Class. In this context, membership in such an arbitrary Class can help you organize and manage nodes in the Graph Window.
Selecting Classes
- By default, all checkboxes are ticked, meaning that all Classes are visible in the Graph Window.
- By unchecking, you can "gray out" a class from the current display, i.e., the corresponding nodes and arcs now appear as semi-transparent in the Graph Window.
- Also, if a Class is unchecked, neither the nodes in that particular Class nor the arcs connecting to the nodes in that Class can be manipulated in the Graph Window.
- The checkbox
All
allows you to quickly check and uncheck all Classes in the list. - At the bottom of the list is a combo box, which allows you to define a Class Filter.
