Overview

The Conversational Network Modeler is a Hellixia feature that lets you build and refine a Bayesian network through natural-language conversation with the Large Language Model (LLM) layer. Instead of generating a complete network in one shot (as the Automatic Bayesian Network Generator does), you can iteratively construct and edit nodes, states, and relationships by chatting with Hellixia.

This dialog-driven approach complements the other network generators. It is particularly useful when you want to incrementally develop a model, ask clarifying questions, or make targeted modifications without restarting from scratch. The Conversational Network Modeler is presented alongside Constraint-Free Bayesian Networks in the Hellixia Course material.

In practice, you would use it to:

  • Propose new nodes and have Hellixia suggest their states.
  • Add or remove arcs between existing nodes.
  • Refine the definition of a node’s concept.
  • Ask the LLM to explain or justify a proposed relationship before committing it to the network.

The Conversational Network Modeler is one of several ways Hellixia turns text and domain knowledge into structured networks, alongside the Automatic Bayesian Network Generator and the causal generators (Causal Semantic Diagram Generator and Propositional Causal Network Generator.
