Dynamic Layout

Context

• The Dynamic algorithm is particularly efficient with weakly-connected networks.
• The algorithm has the following objectives:
  • Position parent nodes above child nodes.
  • Minimize the crossing of arcs.
• In Validation Mode and while the Arc Analysis Mode is active, the Dynamic algorithm has an additional objective:
  • It positions the nodes so that the arc lengths are inversely proportional to the strength of the arc.
  • This means the shorter the arcs, the stronger the relationship between the nodes.

Usage

• Main Menu > View > Layout > Dynamic Layout.
• The Dynamic layout features a slider in the Toolbar that allows you to adjust the repulsion between the nodes.
