Set Cost
Context
- By defining the Cost of a node, you specify the cost (or effort) of observing the node.
- You can apply Cost node by node (see Cost Management), or apply the same Cost to all nodes within a Class via the Class Editor.
Usage
-
There are multiple paths to access Set Cost:
- Select
Main Menu > Edit > Edit Classes > Set Cost. - Select
Graph Panel Context Menu > Edit Classes > Set Cost. - Click the Classes icon in the Status Bar to bring up the Class Editor, then click Set Cost.
- Select
-
Highlight at least one Class in the list of Classes.
-
Click the Set Cost button.
-
Check the box and enter the Cost you want to set.
-
Note: Unless specified otherwise, the default value of Cost is 1 for all nodes.
These properties are applied to the nodes contained in a Class at the time they are set, not to the Class itself. If nodes are added to a Class after a property has already been applied, the newly added nodes will not inherit those properties.
