Add Class

The simplest way to add a node to a Class is via the Node Context Menu.

  • Select the nodes you want to assign to a class and then right-click one of them.
  • From the Contextual Menu, select Properties > Classes > Add.
  • The Add Class dialog box offers you a choice regarding the class:
    • Existing Class, if any are already associated with your network.
    • Predefined Class, which includes:
      • Factor
      • Manifest
      • Non_Confounder
      • Hyperparameter
      • Resource
      • Opt_Hard_Evidence
    • New Class

Example & Workflow Animation

For illustration purposes, we use a well-known diagnostic model for Coronary Artery Disease (see Diagnostic Decision Support).

In the following animation, we show how to add the nodes Q Wave\mathit{Q\ Wave} and T Wave Inversion\mathit{T\ Wave\ Inversion} to the new ClassECGClassECG, as both nodes represent signals that can potentially be detected by performing an electrocardiogram (ECG).

Note that four other classes have already been defined in this example: Demographic, Diagnosis, Laboratory and Echo, and Symptoms and Examination, in addition to BayesiaLab’s predefined classes.
